Burnt Hill Nature Walk trail is a relaxing foray into the fringes of Cockpit Country. Burnt Hill was once a road built by the Canadians in the mid-1900’s that, due to the small amount of traffic that uses the road, is slowly finding its way back to nature. Ideal for all ages, Burnt Hill Nature Walk allows you to explore Cockpit Country at a leisurely pace. While viewing the unique geological formations of Cockpit Country visitors can keep an eye out for endangered Jamaican Yellow and Black-billed Parrots flying overhead as professionally trained guides relate traditional herbal remedies and folklore and point out many of the area’s endemic species of ferns, epiphytes and butterflies. After the hike the tour wraps up at Stewart’s Farm in Rock Spring where local chefs prepare an authentic “bush-style” meal served in Calabash dishes.
